Copper Creek House
January 10th, 2008 . by AdministratorYouth Bridge, Inc. opens another house for homeless youth of Northwest Arkansas.
Youth Bridge has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services to provide transitional living services for homeless and runaway females under the age of 18.
Eight young girls will be given a safe and stable environment in which to live for up to 18 months. Youth Bridge has purchased “Copper Creek House” to serve as the group home for these young girls during their stay in the program. Youth residing here will have round-the-clock, on-site supervision and guidance in basic life skills. The clients will develop the skills necessary to move on to independence. Those who have dropped out of school will be assisted in completing their high school requirements, either at their high school or through the GED program. They will receive instruction in:
- money management
- budgeting
- consumer education
- interpersonal skill building
- educational advancement
- job seeking and attainment
