Many people harbor the misconception that because prescription drugs are given to us by doctors, and cough and cold medicines are available at your local drug store that they are inherently safe.
But this is not true.
When used to get high, or without the supervision of a physician, prescription drugs and cold and cough medicine are every bit as dangerous as illegal drugs. Learning this lesson has cost too many people their lives. We need to change the public’s perception about the danger of misusing medications. We need to do it now, and we need your help. You should know that…
- 1 in 5 teens has abused a prescription drug – that’s 4.5 million kids.
